“I fail to see the connection,” Omega cut in.

“The secret project was called OVERTHROW,” Supreme continued, “and the weapon was meant to be a biological agent—a virus spread through mere touch that takes over the mind by cracking the brain’s neural code and linking each infected subject to a master source for direction.”

“Mind control...”

“Precisely. Top scientists from around the world were enlisted to work on the project, and Professor Ordóñez was brought on as the project lead. The project was tested and proved successful on lab rats and monkeys. Then the decision was made to test on live subjects at select locations here in Africa. This did not sit well with the professor, so he destroyed all the vials containing the virus, stole the log files and documentation of the project, and disappeared. But we found him.”

“Where is he?”

“He’s in Wales—Cardiff, to be precise—living under a new name,” Supreme answered. “The folder in your hand has our observations to date and the profile we have built for him. Take that information and bring him to us.”

Omega took another puff on his cigar, then closed the folder. “What made you approach me? You can get this done yourself.”

“The Order of Zerachiel wants to maintain as much distance from this operation as possible. Besides, you and your Imamba friends could use the money. It is a win-win proposition.”

“How much money is in this for me?” Omega asked.

“A lot,” Supreme said as he nodded at another guard, who approached them with a large briefcase. The guard opened the case, revealing crisp stacked hundred-dollar bills.

“This is one million U.S. dollars. Think of it as a down payment, to get you started,” Supreme said as the case was handed to Omega.

Omega, impressed by the gesture of good faith, nodded at his brother while puffing on his cigar. “An operation like this will take some time. We will have to plan to avoid any mistakes. When do you need this man brought to you?” Omega asked.

“There is no rush. For now, let’s say no later than a year from now.”

“That shouldn’t be a problem. You have a deal. You’ll hear from me with specifics regarding our strategy when we finish going through your folder and making our plans.”

Omega nodded, turning without a goodbye and walking away accompanied by four armed guards. Supreme watched his younger brother leave, a sinister smirk on his face.
